Bank of America Scholarship
This scholarship was established for those undergraduate and graduate students who are of low-to-moderate income (80% of the median family income for the county in which their family resides). Scholarship applicants must be Maine residents and enrolled in the School of Business as full-time students and have a good academic standing. In addition to the School of Business Scholarship Application, students will be required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Electa ‘Lecky’ McLain Brown Scholarship
This endowed scholarship is designed to help USM School of Business students with financial need meet the cost of tuition. Recipients of Electa McLain Brown Endowed Scholarships must be graduates of a Maine high school.
Burchard Dunn Memorial Scholarship
The award is given in the memory of Burchard Dunn, a founding partner in Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker by his Corporate Partners to an accounting or business major who upholds some of his high ideals and who is involved in the community. Scholarship requirements are as follows: Only Sophomore, Junior, or Senior undergraduate Business Administration and Accounting & Finance majors may apply. These applicants must have a Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or better, be able to convey financial need as listed by the Financial Aid Office. The applicants must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 USM credits upon receival of the funds. The applicant will graduate no sooner than December of the academic year funds are received and preference will be given to students who have contributed to the community. A scholarship application and essay are required.
Charles N. Greene Scholarship
The award is given to a business administration student with strong academic standing who has expressed an interest in a career in management. Eligible applicants need to fulfill the following requirements: must be undergraduate Business Administration majors with 54 or more credits, have a cumulative GPA of 3 or better, be enrolled for a minimum of 6 USM credits upon receival of the funds, graduate no sooner than December of the academic year that the funds are received, have received an A – or better in BUS 340 and has an interest in a career in management. A Scholarship application and essay are required.
Dean John W. Bay Scholarship
In 2003, this scholarship was established in recognition of John Bay who retired from the School of Business after 38 years of dedicated service. John and Anne Bay have continued to fund this scholarship. Requirements are as follows: Open to any School of Business Major who has a cumulative GPA of 3 or better, is enrolled for a minimum of 6 USM credits upon receival of the funds, will graduate no sooner than December of the academic year that the funds are received, will be able to exhibit leadership potential through high quality participation on a volunteer basis in University, School of Business and or community organizations. A Scholarship application and essay is required as part of the scholarship application process.
