Annie S. Alexander Memorial Scholarship

A non-renewable $1000 scholarship for students pursuing full-time undergraduate nursing degrees; preference is given to African-American students from Forsyth County. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate outstanding leadership, school service and community involvement. Student must demonstrate a financial need, but not restricted to lower incomes (merit will be considered to a greater degree).

Colon Furr Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Award $600. Any permanent legal resident who resided in North Carolina and has been accepted to or is enrolled in a 1 year licensed Practical Nurse program or who is enrolled in a 2, 3, or 4 year program that leads to certification as an RN. The school must be located in North Carolina. Student must receive endorsement from a North Carolina American Legion Post. Up to 3 endorsement from Teacher, Career Counselors or Guidance Counselors are required. Additional letters of endorsement (non-school related) are encouraged; up to 5)

Carol Ann Beerstecher Nursing Scholarship

Applicants who are pursuing pre-licensure nursing education on a full-time basis, have resided in of the following North Carolina counties for at least one year prior to applying (Chatham, Durham, Orange, Wake, or Person.

Lions Club of Utica

Must be a nursing, human services, or life science major, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be from the city of Utica, be of good character, civic minded and be in their second year at MVCC.

Lisa A. Parlato & Clark M. Brown Scholarship in Health Services

Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, enrolled full- or part-time, at least 30 years of age at time of application, receive a recommendation from a faculty member in Nursing and Allied Health
